Roland Erne has a total of over 25 years of professional experience, most recently as Head Financial Planning at Dreyfus Sons & Co Ltd, Banquiers. Before he worked for UBS P&S Wealth Planning, International Clients for more than nine years. Prior to UBS he worked for five years in the tax and legal department of Ernst & Young AG, Basel (including some time with for E&Y in São Paulo, Brazil). Before Ernst & Young AG he worked as an independent attorney at law, and also worked for fifteen months in the legal department of a large internationally active Swiss insurance company. Prior to this he worked for two years in the Private Client Department of Swiss Bank Corporation (now known as UBS).

Roland Erne has extensive experience in business Law (corporate law, international agreements). He is highly experienced in establishing Trusts and Foundations in various locations negotiating with international companies, especially in Germany, Latin- and South America, as well as in the Common Reporting Standard and as Responsible Officer in FATCA/QI, in litigation and court procedures. Finally, he also has experience in founding firms, fusions, debt enforcement and bankruptcy law. He is the Student Liaison Officer with the Basel Branch of STEP.

Roland Erne is fluent in German (mother tongue), English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

He earned his degree in law in 1990 and passed the Bar Exam in 1994.

He is a member of STEP Basel Branch’s Committee.
