Reports to:
Head of Finance and Administration

Main purpose of job:
To prepare financial statements for client entities

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Gathering data to prepare accounts and financial statements, especially and including complex Trust Structures.
  • Keep accounting up to date, meeting all client deadlines as required.
  • Reconciliation of all financial reporting to ensure reliable and accurate financial reporting.
  • Preparation of opening balances for new clients, including review and research of historical financial statements and accounting data.
  • Communicate potential efficiencies in the gathering of data, general processes and production of financial statements.
  • Ensure efficient and reliable retention of all accounting data to support the financial statements as and when required.
  • Any other data entry required for other purposes (e.g. UK tax compliance).
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with Management Reports and other internal accounting, where necessary.
  • Supervising and assisting any junior accountants in training and processes.

Key relationships:

  • Daily contact with the accounting team for work allocation and to provide/request assistance.
  • Daily contact with Trust Managers and Trust Administrators for clarification of transactions and appropriate reporting.

Size and scope of the role:

  • Responsible for providing accounting support and services to the Accounting team.
  • Responsible for providing accounting information to the Trust Management team.

  • Ability to develop self and others.
  • Good working knowledge of Accounting Software and Microsoft applications.

Education / Qualification / Experience:
At least five years’ experience working as an Accountant within a professional services environment.

Other requirements:
Flexibility with working hours as and when required.
