Trust Manager (80%-100%)

Zurich or Geneva, Switzerland

Reports to:
Senior Trust Managers and/or Directors

Main purpose of job:
To provide a professional, efficient support service to Senior Trust Managers and/or Directors on formation and ongoing administration of Trusts and Companies.

This role involves regular interaction with all members of the Trust Team, Directors, Accounting team and other colleagues within the office.

Main duties and responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be responsible for the ongoing management of a portfolio of trust and corporate clients, including complex private client structures and special purpose vehicles. This includes:

  • liaising with clients, their advisers, and family offices where relevant, to assist in the establishment of high value privately held structures, including trusts and corporate vehicles;
  • the ongoing management and administration of these structures, including the review of investment portfolios, relevant documentation, monitoring of ongoing responsibilities including helping to ensure compliance with all aspects of the relevant laws, liaison with the firm’s accounting department as necessary, regarding the preparation and review of financial statements for trusts, companies, private trust companies and special purpose vehicles;
  • the supervision of staff assigned to support the ongoing management of the portfolio of clients;
  • participation in practice development activities;
  • responsibility for monitoring client deadlines, client service and delivery, reviewing annual statements for trusts and underlying entities and reviewing annual budgets;
  • Responsibility for final review and execution of payment instructions, invoices, signing off annual compliance reviews, other annual reviews and all necessary deeds and resolutions;
  • Client management;
  • Trustee technical developments; and
  • Client compliance AEOI/CRS and FATCA.

Key relationships:
Daily contact with the team for work allocation and to provide/request assistance.

Size and scope of the role:
Responsible for providing seamless Trust Manager support service to the Trust team.

Key skills required:

  • This position requires strong written and oral communication skills, predominantly in English. French or German language is beneficial but not required.
  • Applicants must be both highly motivated and organised with an ability to work on their own initiative and meet frequent deadlines.

Education / Qualification / Experience:

  • STEP Qualified or nearing completion of qualification (ideally).
  • A minimum of 4 years’ practical experience in the administration and management of a portfolio of trust and corporate clients.
  • English at a business level (BEC higher, min. C1). French and/or German is beneficial but not required.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills.
  • Good numeracy skills and a strong commercial awareness.
  • Solid administration experience built up within similar high net worth clients environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability and maturity to deal effectively with all levels of staff and management within the Company, third party service providers such as asset managers and tax consultants, and with high powered clients.
  • A good understanding of the regulatory environment such as FATCA, CRS, Beneficial Ownership and Economic Substance.
  • A strong client care / service orientation.
  • A sharp analytical mind.

Other requirements:
Flexibility with working hours as and when required.
